| Outline of Research at the Start |
肥満やうつの発症には様々な要因が関連することから、従来の観察研究ではその因果関係を明らかにするには限界がある。本研究では朝型と夜型、つまりクロノタイプ（chronotype）に関連するSNPsを測定し、メンデルランダム化解析手法を用いて朝型夜型のクロノタイプと肥満やうつとの因果関係について、中部地方の職域コホートの参加者で検証し、公衆衛生上の課題である肥満やうつの予防や治療に有用な知見を得る。

| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
2018年に実施したアンケート調査により、朝型あるいは夜型の概日リズム傾向を自己申告した中部地方の職域に勤務する職員約300名を対象に、同年に採取したDNAサンプルを用いて一塩基多型（SNP）解析を実施した。現在、SNP情報のストランドの整合性確認、アライメント、アノテーション等、遺伝子多型データの精査・整理作業を現在進めている。

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
クロノタイプ（朝型・夜型）に関連するSNPsは、既報およびUK Biobankにおける最新のゲノムワイド関連解析（GWAS）を基に選定し、対象集団における該当SNPsの頻度、クロノタイプとの関連性、さらに肥満指標との関連性について、段階的に解析を進めていく予定である。統計的な検出力を高めるため、今後さらにサンプルサイズの拡充が求められる。
