Outline of Research at the Start

風力発電は、大規模に導入可能な再生可能エネルギーとして注目を集めている。しかし、周辺住民には風車騒音による健康影響が報告されている。風車の大型化で騒音曝露が益々顕著になることは明らかだが、騒音と健康影響の関係については十分な科学的知見がない。そこで本研究では、風車騒音と不眠症状の量反応関係について疫学研究による解明を試みる。秋田県由利本荘市を対象地域とし、疫学者と音響学者が協力して調査を進める。風車騒音の測定・予測を音響学者が行い、質問紙票調査を大規模調査の経験のある疫学者が行う。風車騒音と健康影響の関連を明らかすることで、住民の健康を保護しつつ風力発電を導入する道筋を提示することができる。
