Outline of Research at the Start	動物などの意味のある図形をピースとする芸術的なタイリングはエッシャータイリングと呼ばれる．エッシャータイリングを自動生成する試みとして，入力した1つの目標図形になるべく類似した図形をピースとするタイリングを自動生成する問題が研究されている．近年，研究代表者はある程度複雑な目標図形に対しても満足度の高いエッシャータイリングを生成できる方法を開発した．本研究ではさらに複雑な目標図形に対するエッシャータイリングや複数種類のピースを用いたエッシャータイリングの自動生成を実現する手法を開発する．さらに，平面上のエッシャータイリングだけでなく，球面上のエッシャータイリング問題への拡張も行う．
