Outline of Research at the Start	本研究では言語の構造的特徴の潜在表現に関する研究を行う。世界の言語の構造的特徴を比較すると、その組合せには一定のパターンが見られる。統計的観点からは、構造的特徴群が構成する空間のなかで、ありえそうな言語はごく一部に分布していると解釈できる。また、言語の変化は漸進的であり、また、途中状態も人間が話す言語であることから、言語の時間変化はありえそうな言語からなる経路を構成するはずである。このような性質を統計的にとらえるために、言語を連続的な潜在空間上の点として表現するという申請者の以前からのアイデアを発展させる。
