Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、南アジア（特にインド）における相続権改革や遺産動機などの世代間移転の変化に着目し、人々の宗教と経済行動がどのように影響しあっているのかを明らかにすることを試みる。具体的には、(1)宗教や価値観が経済パフォーマンスに与える影響、(2)インドにおける相続権改革が女性の収入に与える影響、(3)経済発展や社会全体の変化が、慣習や世帯内での意思決定に与えた影響などを、地域や宗教、民族、カースト間の異質性を踏まえてそれぞれ明らかにすることを目的とする。既存の調査データを用いた実証分析だけではなく、独自の質問票による調査・分析や寺院や農村でのフィールドワークを研究成果に繋げる予定である。
