Outline of Research at the Start

妊産婦死亡の主要因である産後出血では、時に卵巣動脈を介した子宮出血により、卵巣動脈の塞栓（血管を詰めること）を余儀なくされる場合があるが、副作用として生理不順や不妊が危惧される。短時間で消失し、子宮動脈と卵巣動脈との合流部（約500μm）より大きな粒子サイズの塞栓物質を開発することが出来れば、卵巣動脈へのダメージを最小限にして子宮動脈からより確実な塞栓を行うことができる。本研究では、デンプン粒子を用いた短時間作用型の塞栓物質を開発し、基礎実験を通じてその有効性を検証する。
