Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、メタボリックシンドロームを構成する肥満、塩分過剰摂取、インスリン抵抗性などの環境因子が、腎尿酸輸送体URAT1(Urate Transporter 1)の機能調節を介して高尿酸血症(HUA)の発症・増悪に関与する分子基盤を解明する。具体的には、大規模バイオバンクデータを用いた遺伝学研究、培養細胞系へのシグナル刺激による基礎研究、尿エクソソームを用いた臨床研究といった複数の手法を統合した学際的アプローチにより環境因子とURAT1の相互作用を多角的に解析し、分子レベルから疫学レベルに至るHUAのより詳細な病態、さらには他の生活習慣病との相互作用のメカニズムを究明する。
