Outline of Research at the Start

近年の研究から、ヒトの住居周辺は肉食動物が少なくなるため、草食動物が仔育て場として利用することなどが明らかになってきた。つまり、野生動物への人間活動の影響は多岐に及ぶ可能性がある。本研究では授乳中のメスのキリンを対象に、彼らの仔育て場選択と採食品目選択に人間活動が与える影響を解明することを目的とする。キリンの仔育てを通して野生動物と人間活動の関係を多面的に再検討することで、二者の共生を考える上での有用な提言が可能になると期待できる。また繁殖のために重要である仔育てに、人間活動が及ぼす影響を明らかにすることで、ヒトに対する野生動物の適応力についても理解が進む。
