同時通訳は、話し手の発話を聞き手の言語にリアルタイムで翻訳する技術であり、話し手の発話に追従しながら訳出しなければならない。そのため通訳者は不必要な訳出の省略や簡潔な表現への言い換えにより訳出時間を短くすることで、話し手の発話への追従を容易としている。既存の同時通訳機では、通訳者がどの部分に注意して訳出しているのかを明示的に学習できず重要な単語まで訳抜けする問題や、音声出力での実際の訳出時間が考慮されず、話し手に追従できない問題があった。本研究では、重要でない語の適切な省略と、冗長な表現の簡潔な表現への言い換えによる訳出時間の短縮が可能な同時通訳機の実現を目指す。
