Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、19世紀末に西アフリカ社会の経済空間が英仏葡によって分断された後に、どのような経済制度（貨幣・税・金融）が外部から西アフリカに持ち込まれ、それに対して、アフリカの人々がどのような反応をし、現代のアフリカ社会にどのような影響を与えたのかをアーカイブ史料を用いて検証することを目的とする。本研究の背景には、西アフリカ経済史研究において、国内外の研究者コミュニティーでさまざまな形で分断が生じていることに対する懸念がある。それらを乗り越え、海外の研究者との対話や知の移転を通じて、日本の西アフリカ社会経済史研究のグローバル化をめざす。
