Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research, first the comparison between translation work by Mori Ogai and the original text was performed. Next the influence that Ogai’s translation work made on his novels was investigated. In this way, it was enable to clarify the most advanced example of the cultural communication between modern Japan and Europe. Numerous words translated by Ogai have been rooted in Japanese. The work of his translation is important even to the point that supported the formation of the modern society and there is significant necessity to widely investigate them. The result of this study leads how the diffusion of the international culture information was made and its influence in the modern formative period in Japan.
