Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research, focusing on the influence of the Industrial Revolution, the modernization and urbanization in Great Britain from the 1750s to the end of Victorian period are chronologically examined. Thereby starting from Jane Austen, the descriptions and representations of the Industrial Revolution are historically and culturally are studied from manifold viewpoints. In addition, to clarify the significance of the Industrial Revolution internationally, Soseki Natsume’s study in Britain and the extent of Japanese university students’ understanding of the age of the Industrial Revolution
