Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study clarifies orthographic variation in contemporary Japanese by survey of multiple registers recorded Balanced Corpus of Contemporary Written Japanese. As the actual situation of orthographic variation, the following thing became clear. (1) Results of changes in the latter form of syntactic compound verbs, tendency of kanji is to increase has been observed. (2) For loan words, it was seen orthographic variation of long vowels. In particular, orthographic variation of word-final long vowels and hiatus [ei] has been observed.
