The present essay sets out the findings from the three year project as follows. First, it shows how Brazilian farmers, advised by Nikkeijin agriculturalists and educators, have had little difficulty in adopting crop diversity on their smallholdings. Second, it shows how planting diverse crops has improved yields, leading to higher incomes for farmers. Third, it shows how cooperation between smallholders and the Nikkeijin has improved agricultural practices on farms, contributing again to higher income.
