Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We investigated the effect of estorogen to the neuropathic pain in the ovariectomized rats. It was revealed by the behavioral approach that estrogen acts as aggravating factors in the acute inflammatory phase of neuropathic pain and as the attenuation factor in the chronic phase. In this study, we particularly focused on the effects of estrogen in the acute inflammatory phase. Specifically, we investigated the effect of estrogen on TRPV1 and ANO1 expression level which play an important role in inflammatory pain. As a result, it has been suggested that estrogen exacerbates the inflammatory pain by enhancing the expression of TRPV1 and ANO1.
