Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aimed to improve the mental health of spouses of breast cancer patients, develop a nursing intervention program that helps them recognize their roles, and evaluate its effectiveness. The study design was a nursing intervention study to develop nursing interventions that promote the role recognition in spouses of breast cancer patients, and then to evaluate the effectiveness of those interventions. The results of POMS and RSES showed decreased negative mood states and increased positive mood states in the intervention group. Self-esteem was also elevated in this group. This suggests that the program may serve to stabilize mood and raise self-esteem in spouses of breast cancer patients.
