Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research aimed to develop a simple test method to evaluate the surface quality, such as permeability and tightness of concrete. It is so called the repeated water flowing test. Drops of water by digital micro pipet are repeatedly put on the vertical concrete surface and then the length of water flow is measured as an indicator of the surface concrete quality. When drops of water are repeatedly put on the vertical concrete surface without any guiding device the flow path often meander and branch. Thus, this research attempted several devices on the concrete surface to stabilize water flow on the concrete surface to steadily obtain the stable flow length. Then it was found that two vertical parallel lines described by pencil with 5mm interval can play roll as a good guide for water flow due to its water repellency. By improving devices for more quick measurement the proposed method could be established as a simple evaluation method for surface quality of concrete.
