Outline of Final Research Achievements

Imaging study with low-to-non invasive manner has been increasingly awaited. Although optical coherence tomography (OCT) has a high resolution, its dependence to light limits the imaging range to surface only. By using a catheter probe, OCT imaging of muscle tissue was able to be obtained by inserting into a sedated animal. To utilize the technique to human subjects, development of a thinner probe is expected.
