Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this project, we analyzed the relationship between household heterogeneity and the effects of consumption taxation theoretically, constructing a modern macroeconomic model. In particular, focusing on the reallocation effect among heterogeneous households, we studied the feature of dynamics of aggregate variables. In addition, we found that the expansion of public debt and the measure to reduce it were significant issue in terms of designing the consumption taxation system. We provided a theoretical analysis this problem in the case of fiscal discipline that the Euro area actually adopted.
