Outline of Final Research Achievements |
PPARγ concentrations in aqueous humor and vitreous fluid were significantly higher in PDR than in control (P<0.0005). In PDR, there were significant positive correlations between PPARγ and VEGF concentrations (P<0.0005). There was a tendency toward higher PPARγ concentrations in PDR patients with increasing severity of fibrous proliferation. PPARγ may be a promising candidate as a diagnostic marker and a therapeutic target for PDR.
