Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Without sterilization in the root canal system, no good outcome of root canal treatment. However, high concentration of sodium hypochlorite solution, most popular root canal irrigative solution, sometimes cause severe injury if it comes outside of the root canal system via apex. We revealed that the application of nano-bubble to low concentration sodium hypochlorite solution improved its bactericidal effects for Enterococcus faecalis, commonly detected in persistent endodontic infections. These results indicate that nano-bubble may contribute to establish a safe and effective irrigative system.
