Outline of Final Research Achievements

The first year, I went to Taichung and Tainan in October and March to interview Taiwanese people who had been to Japanese schools in 1940s. There were 8 people who gave me some information and shared their impressive memories of that time, though none of them knew anything about education of continuing vocational-training institutes. In Taipei, I got several journals of peoples’ lives in Taiwan first published in 1930-40s, and from that time on, I started to study them.
The second year, I also had some interviews in February, but nothing was found from them.
