Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research focuses on the wooden house building system in recent China. First, from several reports and statistics, we grasp the scale of Chinese wooden house market and problems recognized by households or construction companies. Second, we interviewed with 3 wooden architectural education facilities. One of them run wooden architecture specialized course. Third, we interviewed with 4 wooden construction companies. Two of them are Chinese companies and mainly build owner designed houses with supports from Canadian organization. Other two of them are Japanese companies. They have difficulties in preparing materials and skilled workers.
