Outline of Research at the Start

ローマの法を経済史や経済学の観点から再検討し論点を深化させつつある研究動向の上に立ち、古代ローマ人が契約・決済に際し実際にどのような考慮を働かせていたか、その思考を原理的に解明する。
これにより、法律学的意思理論が前提とし不問とする意思決定過程に新たな光を当て、史実の中から人々の行動原理、契約締結の意図を把握する。
そのため、具体的素材として銀行（両替商）と解放奴隷の関係に着目し、銀行支店長たる奴隷が解放され法的身分を変更しても、依然として経済合理性や営利判断によって突き動かされたと解する「法と経済学」（行動経済学）アプローチを用いる。
