Outline of Research at the Start

太平洋戦争が勃発する過程に関する多くの研究では、日米関係に焦点が当てられ、日本が非合理的な決定を下して勝ち目のない戦争を開始したという見解が見受けられる。しかし、私の「仏印進駐」に関する研究は、従来の見解に対して新たな視点を提供するものである。この研究では、一次資料の種類をさらに拡充し、1939年9月から1941年12月までの期間に焦点を当て、日・米・英・仏の各国公文書館に所蔵されている資料を精査することを目指している。広範な空間的枠組みの中で出来事を年代順に整理することで、太平洋戦争勃発の過程を再検討することが本研究の主たる目的である。
