Outline of Research at the Start	補助事業期間中、本研究は故下司孝麿氏旧蔵資料（高知県断酒新生会蔵）の史料調査とその読解に多くの時間を費やす。同資料は、現在では酒害防止団体を代表する位置にある全日本断酒連盟の成立と展開を理解する上で重要な材料を提供するものである。その内容を、これまで申請者が研究してきた日本禁酒同盟資料館旧蔵資料（武蔵野大学蔵）など一次資料との比較検討を行う。その作業を通して、日本の禁酒運動と断酒会運動の連続性と非連続性はいかなるものだったか、明治期以来の酒害防止運動の歴史と現在に、その内容はどう位置づけられるか、世界的な禁酒運動から断酒会運動への移行の潮流に、その内容はどう位置づけられるかを考察する。
