Outline of Research at the Start	本研究の目的は、心臓・肝臓・膵臓・腎臓・筋肉・皮下・腸間膜/大網の7臓器における脂肪蓄積が、糖尿病・心血管疾患を中心とする生活習慣病に与える影響を、各臓器別、及び全臓器の両面で解明することである。日本のCTデータ、欧州のMRIデータ、国内外の遺伝子多型情報をもとに、各臓器脂肪と糖尿病・心血管疾患等の生活習慣病に関する観察研究、各臓器脂肪と生活習慣病に関する遺伝子多型情報を用いたメンデルランダム化研究、クラスター解析で同定する脂肪分布パターンと生活習慣病に関する研究を行い、7臓器の脂肪が生活習慣病に与える個別影響と複合影響を人種差も含めて明らかにする。
