Outline of Research at the Start

現在，世界では6億人以上が肥満症を発症している．近年の研究から肥満症患者の脳ではミクログリアの活動を介してシナプスのリモデリングがおこり，認知機能の異常が生じることが知られている．申請者はこれまで一貫して麻酔の作用機序を脳科学的に研究しており，全身麻酔薬は「神経ネットワークを断片化する」という共通の現象を示すことを見出した．本研究では肥満モデル動物の脳において，全身麻酔薬による神経ネットワーク断片化作用に及ぼす肥満症の修飾作用を明らかにする．本学附属病院では病的肥満症例に対する肥満減量手術が施行されているが，当該研究で得られた知見を，超肥満症例の全身麻酔方法に臨床応用することを最終目的とする．
