Outline of Research at the Start

集中治療室(ICU)に入室した人工呼吸患者の約50%が呼吸困難を経験し、これは患者に強い 苦痛を与え、退院後の精神機能障害と関連することがわかっている。これら精神障害を防ぐためにも、ICUでの呼吸困難の症状マネジメントが重要な課題となっている。呼吸困難を緩和する非薬物療法の一つに送風療法がある。送風療法は容易で安全に呼吸困難を緩和させる支援であるが、ICU入室中の重症患者を対象とした多施設共同研究や無作為比較試験はなく、送風療法の効果はまだ解明されていない。本研究は、ICU入室中の重症患者に対する送風療法が呼吸困難の軽減に有効かを、多施設共同無作為比較試験で解明することが目的である。
