Outline of Research at the Start	研究代表者は周期性発熱と脂肪炎症が見られる患者から疾患原因遺伝子Xの変異を新規に同定し、高脂肪食を与えた変異遺伝子保有マウスでも脂肪組織への炎症性細胞の浸潤が増大するという結果を得た。しかし肥満による生活習慣病への影響や病態に関わる機序は不明である。以上の背景から、本研究では遺伝子Xの変異が生活習慣病に関連する免疫細胞および非免疫細胞に与える影響を明確にし、肥満による生活習慣病に与える影響やその機序を明らかにすることを研究目的とする。本研究の成功により、新規炎症性疾患の詳細な発症機序を明らかにすると共に、生活習慣病の新たな発症機序の解明や新規治療標的の発見に結びつくと期待できる。
