Outline of Research at the Start

重篤化した肺炎症例は急性呼吸促迫症候群(ARDS)を呈し、人工呼吸器および膜型人工肺を用いた長期の対症療法に頼らざるを得ない。致死率の減少や早期人工呼吸器離脱を可能にする、より効果的な対症療法が希求されている。近年肺胞間質に定住する組織マクロファージの中に急性肺障害の抑制に関わる一群が報告されており、ARDSの改善に寄与する可能性が示唆されている。この細胞群をHLAホモiPS細胞から誘導し、同種免疫細胞製剤を作成することによりARDSの改善に寄与する治療法を開発することを目的とする。
