Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The hypothesis that crisis experiences and the achievement of psychosocial developmental tasks were related to the development of personality and psychological competitive ability of junior high school, senior high school and university athletes was investigated. The results indicated that this hypothesis was partially supported and that the content of the relationships between the variables differed, depending on the developmental stage. Based on these developmental differences, we suggest the need to develop a new field of study named “Developmental Sport Psychology” that focuses on developmental change in psychological tasks of athletes.
