Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Relying on such research activities as field trips, interviews and literature review, this study examined an ongoing phenomenon of the development of a mutually complementary relationship between urban spaces for businesses and tourists in the central business district in Tokyo, which is also a policy and planning issue in various global cities in the world. Throughout the research process, this study attempted to meld the studies of urban planning with tourism as its academic contribution and affirmed that the concepts of “cultural consumption” and “cultural economy” would provide a framework for promoting the development of the interdisciplinary study.
