Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In Czechoslovakia during the "normalization" era, in which artists and their works that did not comply with the then cultural policy were not officially approved, the Jazz Section of the Musicians' Union made efforts to disseminate the undesirable artists' works as legitimate and official ones until the Jazz Section’s forced dissolution. This study has examined the activities of the Jazz Section, which includes not only music but also other fields of art, such as literature, theatre, fine and plastic arts, elucidating the circumstances of art at the time.
