Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aims to understand second language identities from situated learning perspective through the analysis of photographs along with life-story interviews and generate insight into the use of photographs for narrative research. We analyzed activities and subjects appearing in the photographs of long-term study abroad learners along with their narratives. Through comparative case studies, we considered how learners’ participation in target-language-mediated communities of practice affect their second language identity construction.
