Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research project developed a number of creative EFL (English as a Foreign Language) activities, utilizing the principles and techniques of improvisational drama. Especially during the 2015 school year, it organized a study group called “English Activity Studio” (continued in fiscal 2017) and held regular workshops with many researchers and practitioners. It then investigated the results using communication analysis, and explored the activity structures that support improvisational interactions. It has identified "improvisation," "collaborative" and "creativity" as factors that encourage the participants to interact with their co-participants and environment while flexibly responding to the changing meaning situation, and deepened the understanding of these key concepts.
