The use of information and communication technology in civil trials is extremely advanced in other countries, but it has not advanced much in Japan. The use of the Internet and digital technology in real society is advancing even in Japan. So, it is inevitable to treat electronic evidence and E-commerce transactions by the court. Legislation is also done. However, utilizing information and communication technologies for judicial proceedings themselves is only a small part.
In this research, we clarified the situation of ICT use and problems in foreign court practices and got suggestions for full-scale utilization in Japan.
