Outline of Final Research Achievements |
It is becoming necessary for small and medium-sized manufacturers to create manufacturing innovation. Previous studies make known that problem-solving abilities can be key components for SME manufacturers to create innovation. However it is still unrevealed that how SME manufacturers improve their problem-solving abilities. Self-developing production equipment of SME manufacturers is the result of improving their problem-solving abilities. The purpose of this study is to examine mechanisms to improve problem-solving abilities for small and medium-sized manufacturers from case studies of SME manufacturers developing production equipment by themselves. In this study three analytical stand points are used such as the core employees for developing production equipment, cooperation with equipment manufacturers, and roles of corporate managers.
