Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research analyzes both the social historical background of the New York Intellectuals by reviewing their intellectual careers. The New York Intellectuals, a group of American (mostly Jewish) writers and literary critics based in New York City in the mid-20the century, are regarded as “public Intellectuals” because they appealed to the public and facilitated the transfer of knowledge from various specialized fields to the public so it could be understood by non-professionals.
