Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To promote the transition of people with cognitive disorders from medical rehabilitation to vocational rehabilitation, we conducted interviews with 12 medical and welfare specialists who have experience in vocational rehabilitation for people with cognitive disorders, to clarify the processes involved in vocational rehabilitation for such people. We then created a pamphlet based on these processes. Next, we had 78 specialists engaged in medical rehabilitation who were involved in supporting people with cognitive disorders use this pamphlet when giving their clients explanations, and measured the effects on vocational rehabilitation cooperation of using the pamphlet for 1 month. The results showed a significant increase in the understanding of vocational rehabilitation, though a significant increase in frequency was not observed. This indicates that our pamphlet could be effective at promoting cooperation on vocational rehabilitation among specialists.
