Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Individuals with approach motivation seek to obtain positive outcomes from their social relationships, while those with avoidance motivation seek to prevent negative outcomes from their social relationships. The process of fulfilling approach motivation and avoidance motivation would be asymmetric. It is suggested that more resources for self-control are needed for fulfilling of avoidance motivation than the fulfilling of approach motivation. In this study, we examined the process of fulfilling social motivation in various contexts through experiments and surveys.
