Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Fly ash collected from coal-burning power plants has remarkable properties that can improve the performance of cement concrete when added, and the powder material is thus often used as a supplemental binder of Portland cement in concrete (fly ash concrete). The fly-ash concrete made with limestone aggregate may be recyclable as raw material for cement production. The foci of this study were to achieve high early strength development of fly-ash concrete and to develop a recyclable concrete pavement. The study investigated the mixture proportioning of the recyclable concrete based on the flexural strength. In addition, some durability tests (fatigue, abrasion etc) were conducted to confirm the applicability of the recyclable concrete. Test results confirmed the adequate strength development and durability as well as recyclability.
