Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Social defeat stress activated prolactin releasing peptide (PrRP)-synthesizing neurons in the dorsomedial hypothalamic nucleus, caudal nucleus tractus solitarii and ventrolateral medulla. PrRP deficient mice were suggested to have a lower fear threshold. PrRP may prevent the development of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
