Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The aims of this study are to evaluate the correlation between the count of vascular endothelial precursor cells, the amount of ω-3 fatty acids, the feature of brain image and cognitive function in a community-dwelling population aged 80 years and over. We carried out physical measurement (including 3m Up and Go test, ABI and PWV), blood test, survey of actual life situation, cognitive function test and brain magnetic resonance imaging for 161 Okinawan elderly participants. In blood test, we counted vascular endothelial precursor cells by using flow cytometry. In addition, we measured vascular function by various devices.
