Outline of Final Research Achievements

We investigated the relaxant effects of β-adrenoceptor agonist on isolated rabbit basilar artery. As a result, β-adrenoceptor agonists including ritodrine hydrochloride dose-dependently relaxed on KCl-induced contraction of rabbit basilar artery.
Thereafter, we examined the messenger RNAs (mRNAs) expression of β-adorenoceptor on rabbit, dog and human basilar artery. The mRNA of β1 and β2- adrenoceptor were detected on these basilar arteries .The in vivo pharmacological properties were tested, the effect of ritodrine hydrochloride on subarachnoid hemorrhage - induced cerebral vasospasm dog model. However, ritodrine hydrochloride did not improve this vasospasm.
