Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Current major paradigm of health communication is to inform the personalized risks of health harming behaviors and the potential benefits of behavioral change with revolutionizing ICT items. However, it is highly questionable on the effect of affecting ones’ behaviors in a reflective way by such ICT-based intervention. Towards this end, we here launched an idea of "Ad Med" as a science of communication, where we employ a “creative" way of thinking to design products, services and environments to guide people towards healthy behaviors. "Ad Med” targets the people's impulsive, instinctive, and even automatic processes of daily behaviors in multiple occasions with repeated key performance indicator evaluation. Here ,we conducted a proof-of-concept study to experimentally demonstrate the efficacy by using designed materials in occupational health for improving their lifestyles.
