Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research aimed at evaluating the first Toko Kimpu, which was edited as a handbook of the Chinese lute in Edo era in Japan, in relation to the history of the lute. On the way of research, I also evaluated the historical and original significance of one unique handbook and two best texts of the lute of Ming dynasty, which China today has lost but Japan owns. In addition, I entrusted a Chinese player of the lute with rending two tunes which are already extinct but have great significance for the history of the lute in Japan, and left trial recordings.
