Outline of Research at the Start

文化財応用を志向して応募者が国内メーカと共同開発している可搬型蛍光X線分析装置をベースとし,高エネルギーX線を利用可能な新開発の高出力X線管球を導入して,ランタンLaからユウロピウムEuまでの軽希土類元素をK線で検出可能な装置を開発する。主な応用対象は歴史的なガラス製品とし,特に古代の西アジアに繁栄したサーサーン朝の製品に着目する。サーサーン朝の版図であったメソポタミアやイランで見つかった資料でデータを蓄積した後,古代の日本列島に伝来した稀少な資料を同様の手法で分析し,微量重元素組成を指標とした起源の推定を行う。
