Research Abstract |
We developed a wireless telemetry system for monitoring the dynnamic functions of various organs using redionuclide. The system of dual cadmium telluride(CdTe) detectors, a. portable acquisition unit, radio receiver unit and microcomputer unit(PC-9801 VM4). Following softwares along with this hardware were developed. 1. Data aquisition program Data from the two different portions of the body can be collected at 0.05sec intervals and monitored for up to 3 hours. 2. Data analysis ad display programs. 1) Display the two time-sctivity curves simultaneously. 2) Estimation of the flow rates from the time-activity curves. 3) Estimation of the parameters of the left ventricular functions. 4) Display the changes of the parameters of left ventricular functions by various interventions as trend grams. Clinical application of this system was studied in the following fields. 1. Assessment of the cerebrospinal flund shunt flow rates in the different patient's positionings. 2. Assessment of the changes of left ventricular functions by various interventions. 3. Evaluation of pulmonary blood volume during cold pressor stimulation. 4. Monitoring of the renal bolld flow during cold stimulation in the patients with Raynaud phenomenon. In conclusion, wireless telemonitoring of dynamic function can be crried out in the field of nuclear medicine by a computerized CdTe probe system with a radio transmitter and receiver unit.
