Outline of Annual Research Achievements

近年「反強磁性体スピントロニクス」の研究が活発化している。本研究では特に、反強磁性秩序を有する物質系におけるスピン自由度に起因する現象をさらに掘り下げるべく、反強磁性体における局在スピン⇔伝導スピン変換ダイナミクスの解明を目的とする。
前年度の成果として、反強磁性磁化においてもスピントルク効果が有効であることが間接的に既に示されている。本年度(平成30年度)は、実際に反強磁性体に効率よくスピン注入し、スピントルク効果により回転する反強磁性磁化方向を電気的に検出するデバイス構造を作製し、スピントルク書き込み反強磁性メモリの動作原理(書き込み・読み出し)の実証を行った。具体的には、Pt/NiOやPt/CoGd多層膜において反強磁性メモリの実証を行い、10^7A/cm^2程度の電流にて反強磁性磁化方向の制御ができることを確認し、また抵抗変化による磁化方向の読み出しが可能であることを証明した。これらは反強磁性体においても伝導スピン⇒局在スピン変換ダイナミクスが起こることを実験的に示した重要な成果であり、数件の査読論文(Physical Review Letters、Scientific Reports、等)に出版した。本年度後半では、さらに、局在スピン⇒伝導スピン変換ダイナミクスの解明を目指して、反強磁性共鳴を利用したスピンポンピング効果による伝導スピン流生実験を行った。具体的には、THz分光装置を用い、反強磁性共鳴を励起し、共鳴線幅や、電圧測定からスピンポンピング効果の実証を試みた。本成果は、現在論文投稿中である。
